10:10 AM EDT, 04/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- MRC Global ( MRC ) said Tuesday that Daniel Silvers has been appointed to its board following a cooperation agreement with shareholder Engine Capital.

Silvers will be on the board's compensation and environmental, social, governance and enterprise risk committees, MRC said.

Silvers has been the managing member of Matthews Lane Capital Partners since 2015 and executive chairman of Winventory since January 2024, MRC said.

Engine Capital said on March 19 it had filed a preliminary proxy statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to nominate two candidates, Silvers and Brad Favreau and Daniel Silvers, for election to MRC's board at the company's annual shareholder meeting.

Engine said at the time it owned about 4.3% stake in MRC.
