01:47 PM EST, 01/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- National Bank notes that amid tax-loss selling among the telcos over the past six weeks, Rogers fell -12.3% (-$6.20), BCE -11.9% (-$4.49), and Telus ( TU ) -8.9% (-$1.90), with more muted moves by Cogeco at -2.9% (-$2.01) and Quebecor -1.6% (-$0.50).
The extent and timing of any share appreciation for these companies will likely be dictated by 2025 outlooks and any sign of pricing discipline which was abandoned, especially in wireless, nearly two years ago, notes analyst Adam Shine.
The next round of quarterly reporting will begin with Cogeco's fiscal first quarter in mid-January and run through the end of February when Quebecor reports.
