09:26 AM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas rose off a 10-month low early on Wednesday even as forecasts see cooler than usual temperatures coming for most states, cutting into air-conditioning demand.
Gas for October delivery was last seen up US$0.05 to US$2.77 per million British thermal units, after falling to the lowest since Nov. 8 on Tuesday.
The rise comes even as long-term forecasts from the National Weather Service expect most states east of the Rocky Mountains to see cooler than seasonal temperatures over the next six to 14 days, easing cooling demand for the fuel.
The mild weather is likely to boost supplies of the fuel stored for winter use. The Energy Information Administration last week pegged inventories at 3.2-trillion cubic feet, 5.8% higher than the five-year average.
