08:37 AM EDT, 08/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- New Boeing ( BA ) Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg will walk the main factory floor in Seattle on his first day and will relocate to they city, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing a memo sent to Boeing ( BA ) employees.

"I will be transparent with you every step of the way, sharing news on progress as well as where we must do things better," Ortberg said in the memo.

Ortberg's commitment to Seattle distinguishes him from predecesso, Dave Calhoun who preferred to work from a corporate jet or his homes in New Hampshire and South Carolina, Bloomberg reported.
