Nike Developing Motorized Footwear System
Oct 23, 2025 7:23 AM

10:06 AM EDT, 10/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nike ( NKE ) said Thursday it is working on a motorized footwear product intended to help people move faster with less effort.

The product, known as Project Amplify, is being developed under a collaboration between Nike ( NKE ) and robotics partner Dephy and is still at an early testing stage, the company said.

Nike ( NKE ) said that the product is engineered to augment natural lower-leg and ankle movement. It comprises a motor, drive belt, and rechargeable cuff battery that integrates with a carbon fiber-plated running shoe, which can be worn with or without the robotics system, the company said.

In a separate statement, the company also unveiled its Therma-FIT Air Milano Jacket, which allows temperature regulation by inflating or deflating air within the jacket's baffles. Team USA athletes will wear the product at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, it said.
