Nike Expected to Change Parts of Major League Baseball Uniforms by 2025, The Athletic Reports
Apr 29, 2024 9:10 AM

11:56 AM EDT, 04/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nike ( NKE ) is expected to change some elements of Major League Baseball uniforms by the beginning of the 2025 season after complaints by players and fans, The Athletic reported Monday.

The report quoted a memo sent by the MLB Players Association to players saying that after talks with the MLB and Nike ( NKE ), the union has some indications that some changes will be made by Nike ( NKE ).

The changes include returning to a larger lettering on the jersey tops, the report said, adding that on the pants, some previous tailoring options and a better zipper will be available again.

Nike ( NKE ) is also trying to find solutions for issues like sweat stains showing through jerseys, the report said.

"This has been entirely a Nike ( NKE ) issue," the report quoted the MLB Players Association memo as saying. "At its core, what has happened here is that Nike ( NKE ) was innovating something that didn't need to be innovated."

Nike ( NKE ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
