09:52 AM EST, 11/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia ( NOK ) said Monday that it and German tech company Rohde & Schwarz had successfully tested a 6G radio receiver that uses artificial intelligence to improve the coverage of 6G wireless communications receivers.
The Finnish telecommunications company said AI allows receivers to significantly increase uplink distance and overcome the coverage limitations that come with 6G's higher-frequency spectrum.
"This will help operators roll out 6G over their existing 5G footprints, reducing deployment costs and accelerating time to market," the company said.
Shares of Nokia ( NOK ) were up 3% in recent trading on Monday.
