07:44 AM EDT, 07/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Northisle Copper and Gold ( NTCPF ) said Wednesday that it intersected porphyry-related copper mineralization over an 800-meter strike length at the West Goodspeed target within the North Island project in British Columbia.
Results from the 3,077-meter drill program include 68 meters grading 0.56% copper equivalent and 59.8 meters grading 0.37% copper equivalent.
The target remains open along strike as well as up and down dip.
"Initial returns from West Goodspeed are promising, with our team's 2024 exploration strategy demonstrating a high rate of success of intercepting mineralization," said Robin Tolbert, Northisle's vice president for exploration. "These results are preliminary, but we are encouraged by the drilling to date and look forward to receiving assays over the coming weeks."
Based on the positive initial results at West Goodspeed, Northisle said it has expanded the phase 1 program in this area.
The company will also mobilize a second drill to the site in the second half of July to commence drilling at the Northwest Expo target.
Northisle's share price jumped 4.3% yesterday to $0.37 on the TSXV.
