06:33 AM EDT, 10/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) has measures in place to avoid production disruptions caused by US port strikes, news outlets reported Tuesday.

According to the reports, the company's spokesperson said it plans to transport its products to and from the US using air freight.

Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) is heavily reliant on the Port of Norfolk for importing semaglutide, an active ingredient crucial for its diabetes drug Ozempic and weight-loss treatment Wegovy, according to CNBC.

The drugmaker did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
