06:46 AM EDT, 08/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) has introduced a global hiring freeze, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday, citing a company spokesperson.
The hiring freeze will affect all markets and departments except for business-critical roles, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a spokesperson. The report said new Chief Executive Maziar Mike Doustdar last month signaled potential job cuts as part of a broader revamp and added that the company needs to exercise greater discipline and prudence on spending.
Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) employs more than 78,000 people worldwide and currently lists more than 400 open positions, mainly in China and the US. The company has eight vacancies in Denmark, where Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) added 5,500 jobs last year, local media outlet Berlingske reported Wednesday.
Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
