07:32 AM EDT, 04/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Amazon.com ( AMZN ) said Tuesday that they agreed to contribute $25 million each to a 10-year artificial intelligence research collaboration with the University of Washington and the University of Tsukuba in Japan under a $110 million AI partnership between Japan and the US.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) said its $25 million investment in the project aims to "bring the latest technologies" to the partner universities, while Amazon ( AMZN ) said its $25 million funding will support fellowships, research programs, and an entrepreneurship bootcamp.
The US Embassy in Japan said in a Wednesday statement that the $110 million AI partnership between the US and Japan is also backed by Arm and Softbank Group, Microsoft ( MSFT ) , and nine Japanese companies.
