Nvidia Pumps $2 Billion Into CoreWeave to Accelerate AI Factories Buildout
Mar 11, 2026 1:44 AM

12:35 PM EST, 01/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) has invested $2 billion in CoreWeave ( CRWV ) , boosting its shareholding in the artificial intelligence cloud computing firm as they agreed to expand their partnership to meet rising demand for AI infrastructure.

The investment, involving 22.9 million CoreWeave ( CRWV ) shares at $87.20 each, will allow the company to procure land and power to accelerate the buildout of more than 5 gigawatts of AI factories by 2030, according to a joint statement released Monday.

As of September 2025, Nvidia ( NVDA ) owned a 6.6% stake in CoreWeave ( CRWV ), data on FactSet showed.

"AI is entering its next frontier and driving the largest infrastructure buildout in human history," Nvidia ( NVDA ) Chief Executive Jensen Huang said. "Together, we're racing to meet extraordinary demand for Nvidia AI factories -- the foundation of the AI industrial revolution."

CoreWeave ( CRWV ) shares were up 9.7% intraday Monday, while Nvidia ( NVDA ) dropped 0.5%.

Under the expanded collaboration, the companies agreed on the early deployment of Nvidia's ( NVDA ) computing architectures across CoreWeave's ( CRWV ) platform.

"This expanded collaboration underscores the strength of demand we are seeing across our customer base and the broader market signals as AI systems move into large-scale production," CoreWeave ( CRWV ) CEO Michael Intrator said.

Earlier this month, Nvidia ( NVDA ) unveiled the successor to its Blackwell chips, Rubin, which is a new AI computing architecture built around six chips designed to function as an AI supercomputer.

Last year, Nvidia ( NVDA ) agreed to inject $5 billion in Intel (INTC) under a collaboration that aims to develop new data center and PC chips. Separately, Nvidia ( NVDA ) invested $2 billion in chip design software provider Synopsys (SNPS) as part of an expanded partnership.

CoreWeave ( CRWV ) disclosed in 2025 an up to $14.2 billion computing infrastructure deal with Meta Platforms (META) and an up to $6.5 billion contract to boost Microsoft-backed (MSFT) Open AI's computing power.
