04:33 AM EDT, 03/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Uber Technologies ( UBER ) and Nvidia ( NVDA ) said late Monday they plan to roll out a global fleet of autonomous vehicles powered entirely by L4 software from the chipmaker starting in H1 2027.
The initial deployment will begin in Los Angeles and San Francisco before expanding to 28 cities worldwide by 2028.
The phased rollout strategy involves deploying data-collection vehicles in each location to train the Alpamayo engine on region-specific driving patterns before transitioning to operator-led and eventually fully driverless operations, the companies said.
Uber ( UBER ) shares were up 2.3% in premarket activity Tuesday, while Nvidia ( NVDA ) rose 0.1%.
