08:06 AM EDT, 09/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Old Dominion Freight Line ( ODFL ) said Thursday that its less-than-truckload (LTL) revenue per day declined by 4.8% in August compared to a year ago due to a 9.2% decrease in LTL tons per day that was partially offset by an increase in LTL revenue per hundredweight.
For the quarter-to-date, LTL revenue per hundredweight increased 4.5%, and 4.7% excluding fuel surcharges, compared to the same period a year ago. the company said.
Marty Freeman, CEO of Old Dominion, said the "revenue results for August reflect the ongoing softness in the domestic economy."
Old Dominion shares were 1.4% lower in premarket trading.
