10:15 AM EDT, 10/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- OPAL Fuels ( OPAL ) and its joint venture partner South Jersey Industries said Monday that their renewable natural gas facility in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, has begun commercial operation.
The facility, located at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority's solid waste landfill, captures and processes landfill gas into RNG that is intended to be an alternative to diesel and conventional natural gas, according to a statement.
The facility is the first project under OPAL Fuels' ( OPAL ) joint venture with South Jersey Industries, with a second project anticipated in Florence Township, New Jersey, the companies said.
Shares of OPAL Fuels ( OPAL ) were up more than 6% in recent trading Monday.
