07:11 AM EDT, 06/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Orla Mining ( ORLA ) on Thursday provided the first underground mineral resource estimate for the Camino Rojo deposit in Zacatecas, Mexico.
Highlights include measured and indicated mineral resource of 3.95 million ounces of gold, 17.05 million ounces of silver Ag, 278 million pounds of zinc, and 4.16 million ounces of gold equivalent.
The underground resource, including the Camino Rojo Sulphides and Zone 22, extends from the base of the oxide pit to 1,200 meters below surface. Zone 22 had previously been partially intersected by historical drilling but lacked a geological model to define its geometry or potential extension, a statement noted.
In 2025, Orla is advancing a 15,000-metre drilling program to upgrade and expand the upper part of the Zone 22 resource, with 11,000 meters drilled to date.
"This initial underground resource marks an important milestone at Camino Rojo. When we acquired the project, the scale of the mineralized system was clear, but the path forward was uncertain. This resource crystallizes our belief in the potential for a future underground operation," said Chief Executive Jason Simpson.
Orla's shares were last seen up US$0.06, to US$11.50, in U.S. pre-market trading.
