12:02 PM EDT, 07/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Patterson Companies' ( PDCO ) Dental Canada unit and the dental technology company Pearl said Thursday they are collaborating to expand access to Pearl's Second Opinion AI disease detection services in Canada.

The AI software helps dentists analyze dental X-rays in real-time, aiding in the detection of conditions like caries, bone loss, and calculus, the company said.

The technology received its Medical Device Establishment License from Health Canada in 2021, the company added.
