06:46 AM EST, 12/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- PDD's (PDD) online retailer Temu was told to suspend operations in Vietnam after missing a government deadline to register the company before the end of November, state media Vietnam News Agency reported Thursday.

"Temu is working with the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to register its provision of e-commerce services in Vietnam," Temu said in its website.

Temu no longer shows content in Vietnamese on its website, which was made upon requests of the government, according to Vietnam News Agency. The Chinese retailer has also stopped advertising to Vietnamese users, the report said.
