08:53 AM EDT, 05/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Plug Power ( PLUG ) said Tuesday it has secured a conditional commitment for an up to $1.66 billion loan guarantee from the US Department of Energy to fund the development and construction of up to six green hydrogen production plants.

The plants, to be built across the US, will supply low-carbon green hydrogen to major companies, Plug Power ( PLUG ) said.

Plug Power ( PLUG ) shares were up more than 44% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
