Pony AI Receives Approval for Robotruck Platooning Tests in China

07:16 AM EST, 01/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Pony AI (PONY) said Wednesday that it has received approval for robotruck platooning tests on cross-provincial highways connecting Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei in China.

The company said the approval allows it to operate platoons of robotrucks, with only the lead truck requiring a safety operator while the following trucks operate autonomously.

Pony AI said it will begin robotruck platooning tests on the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway.
