Post Holdings Says Avian Flu Found at Iowa Facility Which Provides 12% of Egg Supply
Dec 9, 2024 6:27 AM

09:04 AM EST, 12/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Post Holdings ( POST ) said Monday an egg-laying flock at one of its Michael Foods subsidiary's contracted facilities in Iowa tested positive for avian influenza.

Post said the facility houses approximately 4.5 million egg-laying hens, or approximately 12% of supply.

The company said it expects the financial impact of the incident will not alter its fiscal 2025 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization outlook of $1.41 billion to $1.46 billion and "believes the related financial impact is within the tolerances of the range."

Post also said it does not expect to provide additional updates on the incident unless the impact exceeds an additional 5% of its supply.
