Qualcomm Acquires MovianAI to Expand Generative AI Portfolio

12:16 PM EDT, 04/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) acquired MovianAI, an artificial intelligence application and research company, for an undisclosed price.

MovianAI was previously the generative AI division of VinAI, a research firm of the Hanoi-based Vingroup, Qualcomm ( QCOM ) said Tuesday in a statement.

VinAI founder and Chief Executive Officer Hung Bui will join Qualcomm ( QCOM ).

The acquisition "will strengthen Qualcomm's ( QCOM ) generative AI research and development capabilities and expedite the creation of advanced AI solutions for products like smartphones, PCs and software-defined vehicles," according to the statement.
