Qualcomm Introduces Smaller Snapdragon Chip for Smart Glasses
Jun 10, 2025 10:25 AM

01:05 PM EDT, 06/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) introduced its Snapdragon AR1+ Gen 1 chip for smart glasses, which is 26% smaller than its Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 used for Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

The new chip enables on-device AI processing, allowing smart glasses to operate independently without requiring a smartphone or cloud connection, the company said Tuesday in a statement.

The AR1+ Gen 1 improves image quality and helps reduce temple height by up to 20%, making smart glasses more compact, the company said.

The chip was announced at the Augmented World Expo 2025 in Long Beach, California.

Qualcomm ( QCOM ) shares rose 2.4% in recent trading Tuesday.

Price: 159.15, Change: +3.74, Percent Change: +2.41
