Qualcomm to Launch Data Center CPU for AI That Link Nvidia Chips, CEO Says

07:12 AM EDT, 05/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) plans to launch a new central processing unit designed for data centers to power artificial intelligence that will connect to Nvidia's ( NVDA ) graphics processing units and software, CEO Cristiano Amon said in an interview with CNBC Monday.

Amon said that an official announcement detailing the CPU roadmap and release timeline will be made "very soon," however, did not provide details.

Amon added that there will be a place for Qualcomm ( QCOM ) in the data center CPU space, which "will see a lot of investment for decades to come."

Qualcomm ( QCOM ) and Nvidia ( NVDA ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
