Regulus Resources Reports "Attractive" Copper Extraction Rates at AntaKori Project in Peru
May 26, 2025 10:51 AM

08:35 AM EDT, 05/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Regulus Resources ( RGLSF ) reported Tuesday "attractive" copper extraction rates at the AntaKori copper-gold project in Peru using bio-leaching technologies developed by Nuton, a Rio Tinto venture.

Regulus said the highest copper extraction for enargite-rich high-sulfidation mineralization was 88.3%, while the highest copper extraction for porphyry-hosted chalcopyrite mineralization was 87.9%.

According to Regulus, the results were "very encouraging" as Nuton was able to achieve attractive copper extractions using its bio-leaching technology on both styles of mineralization.

"We are very encouraged by the results of the Phase Two program with Nuton. Conditions have been established under which attractive copper extraction is achieved from both high-sulfidation and porphyry mineralization utilizing Nuton's bio-leaching technology," Regulus CEO John Black said.

Meanwhile, Regulus said it continues to advance an integrated sulfide project resource estimate for the AntaKori project and the nearby Tantahuatay oxide gold mine.

"SRK Peru now has all the information they need to complete the resource estimate on the integrated sulfide project and we look forward to receiving the final results soon," Black said.

Regulus' share price gained 1.5% on Friday to $1.98 on the TSXV.
