01:23 PM EDT, 05/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Reitmans (Canada) ( RTMNF ) on Wednesday said it installed SDI Element Logic's streamlined SORTRAK inventory-management system at the clothing retailer's Montreal distribution center.

This material-handling solution replaces six existing sorters, the first of which was installed by SDI Element Logic in 1996, and is part of Reitmans' initiative to modernize its supply chain infrastructure.

"Implementing the SORTRAK will enhance our efficiency through a significant reduction in the number of touches per item, and by making better use of our space," Domenic Carbone, Vice President, Distribution & Logistics at RCL, said. "As a result, we will improve service levels for our retail operations through improved accuracy, while streamlining inventory and shipping processes."

The company's shares were last seen up C$0.03 to C$2.76 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
