04:04 AM EST, 11/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RenaissanceRe Holdings ( RNR/PF ) reported late Wednesday Q3 operating income of $10.23 per diluted share, up from $8.41 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $8.18.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $3.97 billion, up from $1.84 billion a year earlier.

The company's board also approved an increase to its share repurchase authorization by 50% to $750 million, it said.

The company approved an unchanged quarterly dividend of $0.39 per share, payable on Dec. 31 to shareholders as of Dec. 13.
