10:59 AM EST, 12/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Riot Platforms ( RIOT ) said Friday it purchased 5,117 Bitcoin between Dec. 10 and Dec. 12 for $510 million, at an average price of $99,669 per Bitcoin, including fees.

The acquisition raised Riot Platforms' ( RIOT ) total Bitcoin holdings to 16,728, the company said.

Bitcoins were purchased using some of the net proceeds from offering of convertible senior notes due 2030 and cash reserves, Riot Platforms ( RIOT ) said.

Riot Platforms ( RIOT ) shares were up nearly 4% in recent trading.
