Rocket Lab Shares Rise After US Government Grant, Electron Mission Launch

11:18 AM EDT, 08/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Rocket Lab's ( RKLB ) shares rose past 10% in recent Monday trading after the company launched its 70th Electron mission and won a US grant to boost semiconductor production.

The aerospace company said Friday the US Government will support it with $23.9 million award through the Department of Commerce. Rocket Lab ( RKLB ) said the funding will help it increase its investments in the US to expand semiconductor manufacturing capacity and provide supply chain security for space-grade solar cells and electro-optical sensors for national security space missions.

On Saturday, Rocket Lab ( RKLB ) said it launched an Electron mission called "Live, Laugh, Launch" from Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand. The mission is part of multi-launch contracts with satellite operators to deploy their constellation in low Earth orbit, it added.
