07:34 AM EDT, 08/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Rocket Lab USA ( RKLB ) said late Thursday it has completed the first hot-fire test of its new Archimedes rocket engine, a key step toward launching its medium-lift rocket, Neutron.

The company said that after the completion of the hot fire test, it would begin full production of flight engines.

Production of the Archimedes engines takes place at Rocket Lab's Engine Development Complex in California, according to the company.
