05:03 PM EST, 12/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Rogers Communications ( RCIAF ) said late Friday that Canada's Competition Bureau has cleared its acquisition of Bell's 37.5% stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

The agency issued a "no-action letter" on Thursday, which indicates that the Commissioner of Competition does not intend to challenge the deal.

The deal is still subject to league approvals and also requires approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, Rogers added.
