Roku Q1 Loss Narrows, Revenue Rises; Frndly TV Acquisition Announced

05:56 PM EDT, 05/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Roku ( ROKU ) reported a Q1 loss late Thursday of $0.19 per diluted share, narrowing from the loss of $0.35 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $0.26.

Revenue in the three months ended March 31 rose to $1.02 billion from $881.5 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $1.01 billion.

The company expects Q2 revenue of $1.07 billion. Analysts expect $1.09 billion.

The company cut 2025 revenue guidance to $4.55 billion from $4.61 billion. Analysts expect $4.58 billion.

Roku ( ROKU ) agreed to acquire streaming service provider Frndly TV.

The purchase price of $185 million in cash includes $75 million tied to performance goals in the next two years, Roku ( ROKU ) said Thursday in a statement.

The acquisition is expected to close in Q2.

Roku ( ROKU ) shares fell 4.8% in recent Thursday trading.
