09:38 AM EDT, 04/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Monday that its Raytheon unit has awarded MK72 solid rocket motor development contracts to Nammo and Northrop Grumman ( NOC ) .

The companies will verify the necessary design and specifications and will complete a systems requirements review for further refinement and validation of design concepts, RTX said.

The initial phase work aims to demonstrate these suppliers' ability to execute the requirements and ramp-up production required to proceed with further development and qualification, RTX said.
