09:04 AM EDT, 06/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Tuesday that its Raytheon unit has been awarded a $536 million US Navy contract for the SPY-6 family of radars for sea vessels.
The award is a follow-on to a previous contract for integration and production support, which included upgrading Flight IIA destroyers with the SPY-6(V)4 variant, the company said.
The new contract states that Raytheon will continue to support the SPY-6 family of radars through training, engineering services, ship installation, integration, and testing, as well as software upgrades, with work expected to be completed by May.
The SPY-6 system is currently installed on two new US Navy ships, with three more ships scheduled for installation and testing this year and more than 60 over the next decade, the company said.
