09:26 AM EST, 02/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Thursday that its Pratt & Whitney unit received a new, three-year contract valued at up to $1.5 billion to sustain F119 engines used on F-22 fighter jets flown by the US Air Force.

The contract is intended to improve readiness and reduce costs for more than 400 F119 engines that have flown over 900,000 engine flight hours. It will also continue readiness and cost savings efforts with a focus on safety, availability, simplicity of maintenance, and modernization initiatives, the company said.

RTX shares were 0.1% higher ahead of Thursday's opening bell.
