10:24 AM EDT, 09/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RTX's (RTX) Collins Aerospace unit said Wednesday it received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration for a fully enabled multicore processor to boost the speed, capacity and flexibility of an aircraft's flight deck.

The company said its multifunction display powered by Mosarc is the world's first multicore processer certified for civil and military use.

The multifunction display provides 75% more capacity than traditional single-core processors and can process data 12 times faster with 40% less power consumption, Collins said.
