09:13 AM EDT, 06/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Saia ( SAIA ) reported Tuesday an 18% increase in less-than-truckload, or LTL, shipments per workday in April from a year earlier and an 18.6% increase in May versus a year earlier.

LTL tonnage per workday in April rose 7.6% from April last year and was up 9.8% year over year in May, the company said.

LTL weight per shipment fell 8.8% in April and 7.4% in May, Saia ( SAIA ) said.

The company's shares were up over 10% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
