Sallie Mae Q2 EPS, Net Interest Income Tops Consensus Calls; Lender Boosts 2024 Outlook

05:45 PM EDT, 07/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sallie Mae (SLM) reported late Wednesday Q2 earnings of $1.11 per diluted share, up from $1.10 per share a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.80 per share.

Net interest income was $372 million during the three months ended June 30, compared with $387 million for the lender a year ago.

Analysts were expecting $357.8 million.

For 2024, the company is projecting EPS of $2.70 to $2.80, up from its prior forecast expecting $2.60 to $2.70 per share. Analysts expect $2.77.

Sallie Mae shares were up 1.5% in after-hours trading.
