08:49 AM EDT, 04/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were declining pre-bell Friday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) and Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) down 0.1%.

CarMax ( KMX ) launched a bid to raise $1.25 billion in a sale of bonds after the company's Q4 earnings fell short of analyst expectations, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing a person with knowledge of the matter. CarMax ( KMX ) stock was 1.1% lower in recent Friday premarket activity.
