08:48 AM EDT, 08/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Thursday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) 0.2% higher and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) recently up 0.7%.

Monster Beverage ( MNST ) shares were more than 6% lower after the company reported slower growth in Q2 earnings and revenue than the market had anticipated.
