03:27 PM EST, 02/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed late Monday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.4% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) down 0.1%.

In corporate news, Denny's (DENN) locations in certain area will add a temporary surcharge to meals with eggs in response to a supply crunch that has led to a price surge, Bloomberg reported. Denny's shares rose 2%.
