01:43 PM EST, 01/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were rising Tuesday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) increasing 0.3% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 0.4%.

In corporate news, Ford Motor ( F ) said Tuesday its total sales rose 6% in 2025 to about 2.2 million vehicles. The automaker said its market share rose 0.6 percentage point in 2025 to 13.2%. Its shares gained 2%.
