Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Advance Pre-Bell Monday

09:09 AM EST, 12/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were advancing pre-bell Monday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) up 0.2% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) up 0.6% recently.

TreeHouse Foods ( THS ) shares were down more than 1% after the company said it has agreed to acquire certain subsidiaries that operate the private brand tea business of Harris Freeman for about $205 million.
