Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Edge Higher Premarket Friday

09:15 AM EDT, 09/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were edging higher premarket Friday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) up 0.2% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) advancing by 0.4%.

Lennar ( LEN ) shares were down more than 3% after the company posted lower fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue.

Keurig Dr Pepper ( KDP ) and JDE Peet's said they will file a request for review and approval of the memorandum detailing Keurig's all-cash offer to buy the outstanding shares of JDE Peet's with the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets no later than Nov. 16. Keurig Dr Pepper ( KDP ) shares were 0.5% higher premarket.

Coca-Cola (KO) bottler Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa intends to cut more than 600 workers in the country, Business Live reported, citing a spokesperson for the Food and Allied Workers Union. Coca-Cola shares were up 0.3% pre-bell.
