Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Wednesday

09:19 AM EST, 01/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Wednesday, with The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) 0.2% higher and The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) down 0.2%.

Meta Platforms ( META ) would roll out a test in the US, France, and Germany for buyers to browse eBay ( EBAY ) listings on Facebook Marketplace and then complete the transactions on eBay ( EBAY ), Reuters reported, citing Meta. eBay ( EBAY ) shares were up 7% premarket.

Helen of Troy (HELE) stock was down more than 5% lower after the company reported lower fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue in addition to narrowing its fiscal 2025 guidance.

LifeVantage ( LFVN ) shares were up over 36% after the company reported preliminary fiscal Q2 revenue and raised its fiscal 2025 revenue guidance.
