The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) added 0.7%.

In corporate news, Revance Therapeutics ( RVNC ) shares jumped nearly 15%. The company has received a new buyout proposal from Swiss medical aesthetics firm Teoxane Laboratories, which is offering to acquire the US-based biotech company for $3.60 per share in cash, topping a prior bid from Crown Laboratories of $3.10 per share.
