Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Lean Lower Premarket Thursday

09:14 AM EDT, 06/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were leaning lower premarket Thursday with the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLV ) marginally declining and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) down 0.5% recently.

BioNTech (BNTX) has agreed to acquire clinical-stage biotech company CureVac ( CVAC ) in an all-stock deal, the companies said. Shares of CureVac ( CVAC ) were rising by more than 32% pre-bell.

BeOne Medicines (ONC) shares were up nearly 7% after the company said the phase 1 study of sonrotoclax plus BRUKINSA elicited a 96% overall response rate in relapsed/refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients and a 79% overall response rate in relapsed/refractory mantle cell lymphoma patients.

Simulations Plus ( SLP ) shares were down more than 11% after the company lowered its fiscal 2025 revenue guidance.
