04:03 AM EDT, 07/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sempra ( SRE ) said Wednesday that its Sempra Infrastructure unit shipped the first liquefied natural gas cargo from the ECA LNG Phase 1 project in Mexico, marking a milestone ahead of the facility's expected commercial operations later this summer.

The company said the 3.25 million-tonnes-per-annum project, a joint venture with TotalEnergies (TTE) and Mitsui, is expected to reach substantial completion this summer.

The facility will become the first LNG liquefaction plant on Mexico's Pacific Coast, providing a shorter route for US natural gas exports to Asia and other Pacific markets, the company added.
