Soccer-Cruciate ligament injury confirmed for Man Utd's Martinez
Feb 6, 2025 3:07 AM

Feb 6 (Reuters) - Manchester United ( MANU ) defender Lisandro Martinez suffered an injury to his cruciate ligament in Sunday's 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace, the Premier League club confirmed on Thursday.

Martinez was carried off on a stretcher towards the end of the second half with what looked like a serious knee injury.

"Assessment of the injury is ongoing to determine the appropriate course of treatment and the timescale for his rehabilitation," the club said.

Martinez joins an injury list that also includes midfielder Mason Mount and defenders Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans. United are 13th in the Premier League and next host Leicester City in the FA Cup on Friday.
