Startup Street: Local language learning app, Entri raises USD 1.4 million
Feb 4, 2020 12:17 PM

On Startup Street’s ‘What’s Brewing’, local language learning app, Entri recently closed a round of fundraising at USD 1.4 million led by early-stage venture investment firm, Good Capital. Entri provides learning content like mock tests, flashcards and video lessons in local languages for job aspirants. CNBC-TV18’s Mugdha Variyar and Shruti Mishra spoke to the Co-Founder and CTO of Entri, Rahul Ramesh about the company’s future plans.

In her budget speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a key announcement regarding ESOPs. Now the taxation on ESOPs would be deferred from the time of exercise to up to five years or till they leave the company or when they sell their shares, whichever is earlier. However, some quarters of the startup sector have raised a few concerns regarding this provision. CNBC-TV18’s Megha Vishwanath spoke to Ravi Mahajan, Tax Partner at EY to discuss the ESOP issue.
